KICKBOXING

Our Kickboxing class for beginners is an exciting, high-energy workout that combines elements of traditional martial arts with boxing, kickboxing and muay-thai techniques. It typically focuses on the basics of various striking techniques, including punches, kicks, knee strikes, and elbows, providing a comprehensive introduction to the sport.

Here’s what you can expect in our kickboxing class:

  1. Warm-Up: Classes usually start with a warm-up to get your heart rate up and loosen your muscles. This may include jumping jacks, stretches, and light cardio.
  2. Technique Instruction: Instructors will teach you fundamental techniques, such as jabs, crosses, hooks, uppercuts, and various kicks. You will learn proper form and how to throw these strikes safely and effectively.
  3. Footwork: You’ll practice basic footwork patterns to improve your movement and balance, essential for effective striking and evasion.
  4. Drills: Participants engage in drills to practice combinations and apply techniques repeatedly, helping build muscle memory.
  5. Pad Work: many classes include partner work where you hit focus mitts or pads held by another student or instructor, allowing you to practice accuracy and power.
  6. Conditioning: Kickboxing is a great workout! Expect a mix of strength and cardio exercises to improve your fitness levels, such as shadow boxing, bag work, or a circuit training.
  7. Cool Down: Classes typically conclude with stretching and a cool-down period to aid recovery.
